The state of Kentucky has taken a significant step forward in embracing the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) with the establishment of its AI Task Force. Comprising 10 members, including state senators and representatives, the task force held its inaugural meeting last week to discuss the integration of AI in both government and business sectors.
During the meeting, representatives from Microsoft and the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCI) provided valuable insights into the applications of AI in various industries. The task force members, led by Senator Amanda Mays-Bledsoe, representing Boyle County, outlined the primary objectives of the committee.
Sen. Amanda Mays-Bledsoe, R-Lexington, expressed the significance of this task force for Kentucky, emphasizing the need to learn from other states’ best practices and evaluate existing systems. The ultimate goal is to leverage AI’s potential to enhance government operations while ensuring consumer interests are safeguarded. The task force aims to delve deep into this subject during the interim period.
