Cognosante, a leading technology solutions provider, has emerged as the winner of a potential five-year contract worth $582.9 million. The contract aims to assist the Defense Department in managing the Military OneSource program, which connects service members and their families with valuable resources for navigating military life. The contract includes an initial one-year base period, with the possibility of extending for up to four additional years.
The exact number of bidders for this contract remains undisclosed at the time of writing. Military OneSource serves as a vital platform, offering round-the-clock access to information, resources, and counseling support through various communication channels such as the internet, telephone, email, and artificial intelligence chatbots. The program caters to approximately 4.7 million individuals associated with the Defense Department.
The procurement process for this contract was overseen by the General Services Administration on behalf of the Defense Department. It is worth noting that Cognosante was acquired by Accenture’s U.S. federal subsidiary in May, further strengthening their federal health portfolio. Bids for the Military OneSource contract were due in October 2023.
Under the new contract, Cognosante will undertake several key tasks, including program management, call center operations and support, information technology operations management, counseling, coaching, and strategic outreach. These efforts will contribute to the seamless delivery of services and support to service members and their families.
